Boyd Nicholson

John Boyd Nicholson, affectionately known as Boyd, was born on July 14, 1922, in Blantyre, Scotland. Raised in Glasgow, he was deeply influenced by the godly example of his grandfather, John Nicholson, whose final words quoting Psalm 23:6—“I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever”—left a lasting impression on Boyd. Those words would soon guide him to personally trust in the Lord Jesus as his Savior, marking the beginning of a life dedicated to sharing the gospel.

During World War II, Boyd served as a Royal Air Force pilot, training in Canada where he met his future wife, Bernice Robertson. After the war, they settled in Canada and eventually began a family. Though initially working in printing and commercial art, the Lord led Boyd into full-time ministry. Prevented from missionary work in Africa due to political unrest, Boyd and Bernice devoted themselves to service across North America and beyond. Boyd became a gifted Bible teacher, writer, and editor—serving through publications like Food for the Flock, Counsel, and Uplook, and as a voice on the Family Bible Hour radio broadcast. He remained faithful to his calling until he went Home on November 12, 2000.
